The PIC Privacy Policy is provided to help you understand how we protect the personal information you have provided us. This Policy provides you with an opportunity to make informed choices about the management of your personal information about you. Policy
Our Policy on the Collection, Use, and Sharing of Personal Information
Our Policy applies to all personally identifiable financial information about you that is obtained by PIC in connection with providing information and activities related to our organizational mission. Our Policy will continue to cover information we may collect about you during the course of our relationship as well as after the relationship has ended.

How We Collect Personal Information
We rely on many sources of information to understand and meet your needs.  We collect personal information about you from:

  1. Your applications or in other ways when you visit us in person, over the phone, through the mail or through our web sites;
  2. Your browser, when you visit one of our web sites and your browser interacts with us;
  3. Your transactions with any of the event partners or vendors affiliated with PIC;
  4. Consumer reporting agencies; and
  5. Other sources, in connection with providing you information about upcoming PIC events or activities.

How We Keep Information Secure
Information security is one of our highest priorities, as described in this Policy and in the contracts and agreements that we sign with external suppliers and partners.

We limit access to personal information about you to those employees and agents who need to know the information to provide products and services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect your personal information and we regularly review our security standards and procedures to protect against unauthorized access to personal information.

Information Sharing with PIC and Your Opportunity to "Opt Out"
The Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the opportunity to limit the sharing of "Non-experience information" by PIC. "Non-experience information" includes information that is used, expected to be used, or collected for the purpose of establishing your eligibility for consumer credit, insurance or deposit accounts, and is not related solely to your transactions or other experiences with us, including information from:

1)  Your applications, such as your income or marital status;

2) A credit report, such as your credit history; and

3) Sources used to verify representations made by you, such as open lines of credit or employment history.

  • If you prefer that we not share "Non-experience information" about you, you may opt out; that is, you may direct us not to share this information by calling us at (808) 591-0059, or e-mailing us at info@piccom.org. If you choose to opt out of the sharing of this information, PIC will not share "Non-experience information" about you outside of the primary operational record-keeping that is required by law to manage donations or transactions with PIC. We may share any of the personal information that we collect about you with companies as permitted by law.

If you are a resident of Vermont , we will not share any of the personal information that we collect about you with companies or other organizations without your express written consent, except as set forth under "Other Information Sharing" below.

Other Information Sharing
We may also share personal information about you with companies or other organizations outside of PIC as required by or permitted by law. For example we may share personal information to protect against fraud, respond to a subpoena or service your records.

In addition, PIC may work with companies or organizations outside of PIC to provide services to PIC or provide you with opportunities to buy products or services offered by PIC or jointly with other institutions. Consequently, as permitted by law, we may disclose any of the personal information that we have collected about you to:

1) Other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements; and

2) Companies that perform services for us, including marketing and sales services, and to the financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.

For your protection, we require that these companies keep all personal information secure and confidential.

If you are a resident of Vermont , we will disclose only the following information under joint marketing agreements that provide you with opportunities to buy financial products or services offered jointly with other financial institutions:

1) Your name and contact information; and

2) Information about your transactions with us or our affiliates, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions and credit card usage.

We are not responsible for the collection, use or security of information by companies or organizations outside of PIC that may be linked to our web sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of web sites reached through the links from PIC Web Sites.

Children's Online Information Privacy
We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information from our web sites about children under age 13. If a child who we know to be under age 13 sends personal information to us online, we will only use that information to respond directly to that child, notify parents, or seek parental consent.

Transactions
You must be 18 years of age to engage in money-related transactions on PIC Web Sites. When you do so, you will be asked for a credit card number. This information is not made available to any third party and is considered completely confidential.
