Protect Kaho’olawe ‘Ohana (PKO) on trial – 1977,
Young Native Hawaiians defiantly stand together in support of their
peers charged with criminal trespassing on Kaho’olawe. Wearing
traditional dress, a vivid and clear message was sent to Native Hawaiians
and the larger community: The PKO demands the end to the destruction
of their culture and their ancient sibling Kanaloa (Kaho’olawe).
